JEDI Training Series

Subtle Acts of Inclusion (JEDI 102)

You may have heard of the term microaggression, but not everyone understands what they are or how to recognize them and stop them from happening. While overt racism, sexism, ableism, and other forms of discrimination are relatively easy to spot, we cannot neglect the subtler everyday actions that normalize exclusion. The term Subtle Acts of Exclusion describes the damaging effects of stereotypes, backhanded compliments, unfounded assumptions or objectification. This training provides scripts and action plans to have safe, open-minded, and honest conversations to create inclusive service environments, communities, and people.
